Point Louisa​

Located in the Auke Recreation Area, Point Louisa incredible views of the Chilkat Mountain Range, Lynn Canal, and various islands on one side, and the Mendenhall Glacier, Indian Cove, and old growth temperate rainforest on the other. The Auke Rec Trail ends at Point Louisa but area is most accessible through the Auke Village Campgrounds. Just a quick two-minute walk through the forest brings you right out onto the beachfront of Point Louisa.

A variety of wildlife can be spotted here, including humpback whales, orcas, porpoise, sea lions, eagles, ravens, salmon, black bear, squirrels, porcupine, and a variety of sea fowl. This is a common area to see orcas and sea lions playing in the evenings and at sunset. Point Louisa is also great location for golden hour and sunset shots due to the great view of the sun dipping behind the local snowcapped mountains.
