Brotherhood Bridge Trail

The Brotherhood Bridge Trail is a flat two-mile walk through the beautiful Mendenhall Valley's temperate rainforest. Out of the whole trail, the trailhead is the most sought after backdrop with its views of the Mendenhall Glacier, surrounding mountains, fireweed meadow, and the old growth forest. A 5-minute walk down the trail and just into the forest brings you upon the new wooden brotherhood bridge that crosses over the rushing Mendenhall River.

A variety of wildlife can be spotted here, including black bear, eagles, ravens, squirrels, porcupine and a variety of smaller birds. This is a great location for whimsical fairytale photos and rustic bridge shots. The best time of day to shoot in the forested areas are middle of the day for the brighter lighting, and the meadow is great all day long due to its open exposure.
