Auke Bay Harbor

The Auke Bay Harbor, also known as Statter Harbor, has beautiful views of the open Auke Bay leading out into Lynn Canal as well as the Chilkat Mountain Range, the Mendenhall Glacier, and various islands. Docked here are various personal vessels, commercial fishing boats, larger tugs, and even towering yachts.

A variety of marine life can be spotted here, including humpback whales, orcas, porpoise, harbor seals, sea lions, eagles, salmon, jellyfish, and a variety of sea fowl. The area is surrounded in old growth temperate rainforest that can be seen lining the shoreline. This is a great location for golden hour and sunset shots due to the great view of the sun dipping behind the local snowcapped mountains. If you're willing to brave the winter, the harbor also gives a unique snowy wonderland backdrop with the trees and mountains.
