Auke Recreation Area

The Auke Recreation Area, also known as Auke Rec, has beautiful views of the open Auke Bay leading out into Lynn Canal as well as the Chilkat Mountain Range, and various islands. There is also a campground and the Auke Trail that leads you all the way around the cove out to Point Louisa.

A variety of wildlife can be spotted here, including humpback whales, orcas, porpoise, harbor seals, sea lions, eagles, ravens, salmon, deer, and a variety of sea fowl. The area is surrounded in old growth temperate rainforest that lines the semi-rocky beach. This is location is great anytime in the middle of the day and for golden hour and sunset shots during the summer.
