Eagle Beach

The Eagle Beach Recreation Area includes Eagle Beach, Eagle Beach Campgrounds, and a handful of trails and photo pull-offs. From all vantage points, you have a great view of the Chilkat Mountain Range, Eagle River leading out into Favorite Channel, towering cliffs, and Alaska's Tongass National Forest.

A variety of wildlife can be spotted here, including humpback whales, orcas, porpoise, sea lions, eagles, ravens, salmon, black bear, deer, squirrels, porcupine, a variety of sea fowl, and the rare wolf. The river nearby is used by the local Alaskan salmon to access their spawning streams so eagle and black bear activity are very active in the area during spawning season (August and September). This is a great location for golden hour and sunset shots due to the great view of the sun dipping behind the local snowcapped mountains. If you're willing to brave the winter, the area turns into a beautiful snowy wonderland.
